Overview
Frankincense is an important essential oil prized for its benefits in support of mental, emotional and spiritual health and well-being. Frankincense trees are tall shrubs with papery bark that produce a thick, fragrant resin that’s steam distilled to produce an oil that is rich, earthy and pungent with balancing and harmonizing effects.
Frankincense is widely regarded as the oil that helps support deepening your spiritual understanding, and for this reason, it’s often included in products formulated to open your awareness and encourage a meditative state. On a physical level, it helps encourage deep breathing and has remarkable nourishing and rejuvenating benefits for the skin.
Suggested Uses
- Adults: add 4 drops to a bowl of steaming water/facial steamer and inhale deeply for 5-10 minutes.
- Add 1-5 drops to 2tsp of a carrier oil of your choice (like fractionated coconut oil or jojoba oil) for local application.
- For massage, add 4 drops to 2tsp of carrier oil.
- For skincare, add 1-3 drops to 2tsp of carrier oil.
- Add 5-10 drops to your diffuser of choice; add additional drops as desired.
- Less is more; for all methods of application, start with the lowest suggested number of drops and add according to your preference.
